Beginning again

I have been reading an Advent book “Waiting on the Word – a poem a day for Advent, Christmas and Epiphany” by Malcolm Guite.  Somehow, in response I found a poem of my own forming…

RESTART

we are always beginning again with God

in darkness, astray

the chaos of mess

the unbelievedness

yet here we are

at the point where the wind stirs the water

and the voice says “let there be”

and the physical bends

and obeys into being

afresh, we are beginning
