Travelling Light at the Cathedral

A photographer could make a serious project out of light in this building.

This week, the light has been making pattern with the textile hanging above the small and exquisite clay sculpture of Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane – it weeps over him

And also what I think of as the “new stained glass” – the video projection:

For those who travel burdened – today, I saw a tourist weighted down with a massive backpack sink, heavily, onto a wooden chair right in my line of sight.  And I suddenly thought of the character Pilgrim in “Pilgrim’s Progress” who began his journey with a deadening weight upon his back.  And as he progresses, he loses this.
